SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2026-27

The SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2026-27 is an initiative of SBI Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the State Bank of India. The programme aims to support meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and help them continue their education without financial constraints.
The scholarship covers students at different stages of education, from Classes 9 to 12 to undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes. It also extends support to students studying at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), medical institutions and eligible overseas universities.
Under the programme, selected students can receive financial assistance ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 15,00,000 per academic year, depending on their scholarship category. The application process is completely online, and no application fee is charged. The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the selected students through Direct Benefit Transfer.

SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship for School Students (Class 9 to 12) 2026

Eligibility

  • Open to Indian nationals studying in Classes 9 to 12 at a recognised school in India.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 75% marks or an equivalent 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year.
  • Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe categories will receive a 10% relaxation in the minimum academic requirement.
  • The applicant’s total annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 3,00,000.
  • Applicants below 18 years of age must complete the application with the consent and supervision of their parent or legal guardian.
  • The parent or legal guardian may be required to provide consent through OTP verification during the application process.

Note: The applicable family-income limits, institutional requirements and course restrictions differ by scholarship category. Applicants should therefore apply only under the category that corresponds to their current course and institution.

Benefits

  • Selected students can receive financial assistance of up to INR 15,000 per academic year.

Note: The scholarship amount may be utilised towards eligible education-related expenses, including tuition fees, hostel or accommodation expenses, books, study materials, examination fees, educational equipment and other course-related expenses.

  • Government-issued family income certificateForm 16A, salary slips or another valid income proof, wherever applicable
  • Bank passbook displaying the applicant’s name, account number, IFSC, bank name and branch details
  • Parent or legal guardian consent, where the applicant is below 18 years of age
  • SC or ST caste certificate, wherever applicable
  • Disability certificate issued by a competent authority, wherever applicable
  • Death certificate of a parent, divorce decree, separation document or relevant affidavit, wherever applicable
  • A school-issued letter or self-declaration confirming that no tuition fee is charged, where applicable to students studying in government schools
  • Details of any other scholarship or financial assistance received or applied for, wherever applicable
  • Any additional document requested during the verification or selection process

SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship for Undergraduate Students 2026

Eligibility

  • Open to Indian nationals pursuing an undergraduate degree programme at an eligible institution in India.
  • The applicant’s institution must fulfil at least one of the following conditions:Hold a valid NAAC accreditation of Grade ‘A’ or above, or
  • Be ranked among the Top 300 institutions in the Overall Category of the NIRF 2025-26 rankings.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 75% marks or an equivalent 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year or qualifying examination.
  • Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe categories will receive a 10% relaxation in the minimum academic requirement.
  • The applicant’s total annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 6,00,000.
  • Students enrolled in diploma programmes are not eligible under this category.

Note: The applicable family-income limits, institutional requirements and course restrictions differ by scholarship category. Applicants should therefore apply only under the category that corresponds to their current course and institution.

  • The applicant’s institution must fulfil at least one of the following conditions:
  • Hold a valid NAAC accreditation of Grade ‘A’ or above, or
  • Be ranked among the Top 300 institutions in the Overall Category of the NIRF 2025-26 rankings.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 75% marks or an equivalent 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year or qualifying examination.
