Vacancy Details
The Indian Navy has invited applications for Agniveer (Apprentice) under two trade streams:
Engineering Stream
Marine Engg, Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Refrigeration & AC, Power Plant, Industrial, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, etc.
Electrical Stream
Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engg.
Note: Trade-wise vacancy distribution will be decided based on Indian Navy's service requirement. Separate exams are conducted for Engineering and Electrical entries.

Note: Candidates born between 01 Dec 2004 - 31 Oct 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2/2026. Candidates will be eligible for Stage II of the respective batch based on the age criteria above.
Educational Qualification
Step 1
Matriculation (10th Pass) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a Board of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
Step 2
3-Year Diploma from an AICTE-recognised Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following disciplines:

Marital Status Criteria
- Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible.
- Candidates must provide a certificate of being 'unmarried' at the time of enrolment.
- Agniveers will NOT be permitted to marry during the entire 4-year service tenure.
- A candidate will be dismissed from service if found married or if he marries during tenure.

Benefits, Insurance & Terms of Service
Life Insurance Cover
Non-contributory life insurance of Rs.48 Lakh for the entire engagement period.
Death Compensation
Rs.44 Lakh ex-gratia (service attributable death) + Rs.48 Lakh insurance = Total Rs.92 Lakh to NOK.
Disability Compensation
Ex-gratia of Rs.44 Lakh (100%) | Rs.25 Lakh (75%) | Rs.15 Lakh (50%) based on disability %.
Leave
30 days leave per year + sick leave based on medical advice of competent authority.
Medical & CSD Facilities
Medical facilities at service hospitals and CSD (Canteen Stores Department) provisions during engagement.
Permanent Enrolment Opportunity
Up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled as regular sailors (Artificers) after 4 years, based on performance.
Note: Agniveers are NOT entitled to Gratuity, Pension, or Ex-Servicemen status. They cannot apply for early release except in exceptional cases with competent authority approval.

Visit https://joinindiannavy.gov.in between 05 Jun 2026 (10:00 hrs) to 29 Jun 2026 (17:00 hrs).

Click on "Register" and register as AVR (Apprentice). New users must register first.

After successful registration, click "Login" as Apprentice INET 2/26 and fill the application form carefully.

Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (taken not before May 2026), sized 10 KB - 50 KB. Date must be printed on the photo. A live webcam photo will also be captured.

Upload original documents in scanned form: 10th Marksheet, Diploma Certificate, Domicile Certificate, NCC 'C' Certificate (if applicable).

Pay examination fee of Rs.550 + 18% GST online via Net Banking / Debit/Credit Card / UPI.

Submit the application. Download your Admit Card / Call-up Letter approximately one week before the exam from the official website. No documents will be sent by post.
