IOCL Northern Region Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria


To be eligible, candidates must meet the following general requirements:

Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen meeting state-specific reservation criteria.

Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit as per Indian Oil’s pre-engagement medical standards.

Education Mode: Only regular full-time courses are accepted. Part-time, correspondence, or distance learning qualifications are not eligible.

Exclusions: Candidates with job experience of one year or more, or those who have already undergone apprenticeship training in the same trade, are not eligible.

IOCL Northern Region Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 Age Limit and Exemptions

The age criteria are calculated as of December 31, 2025.

Minimum Age: 18 Years.

Maximum Age: 24 Years (for General/UR).

Age Relaxations:

SC/ST: 5 years (up to 29 years).

OBC-NCL: 3 years (up to 27 years).

PwBD: 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC-NCL).

Trade Apprentice - Electrician (Code 108): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Electrician) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.

Trade Apprentice - Electronics Mechanic (Code 109): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Electronics Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.

Trade Apprentice - Instrument Mechanic (Code 110): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Instrument Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.

Trade Apprentice - Machinist (Code 111): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Machinist) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.

Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of 'Domestic Data Entry Operator' for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Government.

IOCL Northern Region Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 Selection Process

The selection is purely transparent and based on academic performance.

Merit List: Prepared based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination (Diploma/Degree/ITI/Class 12).

Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie, the older candidate is preferred. If the birth date is also the same, higher matriculation marks are considered.

Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for physical verification of original documents.

Medical Examination: Candidates must pass a pre-engagement medical fitness test.

IOCL Northern Region Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 Stipend Details

Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act.

Additional Amount: IOCL provides an additional ₹2,500 per month for miscellaneous expenses.

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): A portion of the stipend is paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) directly to the candidate's bank account (₹4,500 for Graduates, ₹4,000 for Technicians).

Requirement: Candidates must have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account enabled for DBT.
