🎓 Eligibility – Educational Qualifications

Essential Educational Qualification (EQ) is post- and organization-specific. Broadly:

  • JE (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering, OR a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering plus (in some organizations) 2 years' relevant work experience.
  • JE (Electrical) / JE (Mechanical) / JE (Electrical & Mechanical): Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, OR a 3-year Diploma in the relevant branch plus, where specified, 2 years' relevant experience.
  • JE (Telecom) – Department of Telecommunications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Communications, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or Instrumentation.
  • Scientific Assistant (IMD): Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics as a subject, OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Instrumentation/Information Technology/Telecommunication Engineering/Communication Engineering.

Exact qualification requirements differ slightly by organization (e.g., CPWD, MES, BRO, Central Water Commission) — candidates must check the qualification specified against their target organization and post in the official notice before applying.

Note: Candidates whose final qualifying exam result is awaited but declared on or before the cut-off date, with documentary proof, will also be considered as meeting the EQ.

Selection is made through a two-stage Computer Based Examination (CBE), followed by Document Verification:

  • Final selection is followed by Document Verification by the concerned User Department/Organization.
  • No provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores at any stage.

💵 Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed to Group 'B' posts in Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, along with other allowances (DA, HRA, TA, etc.) as admissible under Central Government rules and applicable to the respective User Department/Organization.

  2. Complete your One-Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered on the new website. (Old OTR from ssc.nic.in will not work.)
