The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Andhra Pradesh has released the biggest police recruitment drive of the year on 16 September 2026. As per G.O.Ms.No.81 Finance (HR-I Plg. & Policy) Department dated 22.08.2026 and Govt. Memo No. 3309680/FIN01-HR0MISC/108/2026-HR-I(1) dated 11.09.2026, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned 2,050 posts across the Police Department, State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, Prisons & Correctional Services Department, Special Protection Force and Forensic Science Laboratory.

Six separate notifications have been issued covering Sub Inspectors (Civil/AR/SPF), SI (Communications), SI (PTO), Police Constables (Civil/AR), Firemen, Warders (Men & Women), PC (Communications), PC (Mechanics & Drivers) and Scientific Assistants (FSL). Applications will be accepted online only through https://slprb.ap.gov.in. The exact online application dates and Preliminary Written Test dates will be announced separately through a Press Release.

No Preliminary Written Test. Certificate Verification & PMT → PET (1600 m run) → Written Examination – Technical Paper (200 Questions, 200 Marks, 3 hours). Final merit is based on the written examination alone. Syllabus covers Electrical, Electronics & Radio, Basics of Computers (MS-Office, architecture, networking) and Telephone Systems (PSTN, EPABX, FAX, GSM/CDMA).

E. Constables Mechanics & Drivers – Post Codes 26, 27

No Preliminary Written Test. Certificate Verification & PMT → PET → Trade Test (Post Code 26) or Driving Test (Post Code 27) → Written Examination (Technical Paper, 200 Questions, 200 Marks).

  • Trade Test / Driving Test carries 100 marks across 10 / 8 parameters. A minimum of 50 marks is required. These tests are qualifying only and marks are not added to the final merit.
  • Driving Test parameters include starting on level/gradient, gear changing, road sense & vehicle control (20 marks), braking & reversing, traffic signals, minor repairs (15 marks), knowledge of vehicle mechanism (15 marks) and preventive maintenance.
  • Final merit is based on the Written Examination (200 marks) alone.

F. Scientific Assistant (FSL) – Post Codes 61, 62, 63

No PMT/PET and no Preliminary Test. Written Examination (120 Objective Questions, 120 Marks, 2 hours, English language only) → Certificate Verification → Final Selection strictly on merit in the written examination. Selected candidates must pass the Telugu Language Test and the Accounts Test for Executive Officers during the probation period.

Minimum Qualifying Marks (All Written Tests):

OC (including EWS) – 40% | BC – 35% | SC/ST – 30%. Special Category candidates (Ex-Servicemen, HG, PE, PM, MSP, CPP, CDI, CSPF, NCC, CJP) must secure the qualifying marks of their respective communal category.

During the institutional training period (regular as well as extended), Stipendiary Cadet Trainees are paid a stipend as fixed by the Government from time to time. The regular pay scale applies after successful completion of training. Employees appointed on or after 01-09-2004 are covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme.

How to Apply Online for AP Police Recruitment 2026

Step 1: Visit the official SLPRB website https://slprb.ap.gov.in and pay the prescribed Registration Fee through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking, by providing your Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Community and SSC Hall Ticket Number (or equivalent).

Step 2: After payment, return to the website and complete the Stage-I Online Application Form. Upload the passport size photo, signature, SSC certificate, community certificate (BC/SC/ST), and EWS / Non-Creamy Layer certificates if applicable. You must press "Submit" — if you pay and do not submit, the application will be rejected without notice and the fee will not be refunded.

Step 3 (for SI Civil/AR/SPF and PC Civil/AR/Fire/Warder posts): Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test must revisit the website and upload the Stage-II Application with scanned copies of original certificates before attending the PMT/PET.

Step 3 (for technical posts – SI Comm/PTO, PC Comm, Mechanics, Drivers, FSL): There is no Preliminary Written Test. Candidates must regularly check the website for the schedule and venue of the PMT/PET, Trade Test / Driving Test or Written Examination.

One Application Rule: Candidates applying for multiple post codes within the same notification need to submit only ONE application form — Post Codes 11, 12 & 31 (one form); 15 & 16 (one form); 21, 22, 42, 53 & 54 (one form); 26 & 27 (one form). However, for Scientific Assistant posts, only ONE post code (61 or 62 or 63) may be selected, and multiple applications lead to disqualification.

Documents to Carry at the Time of PMT / PET / Verification

  • Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate for BC candidates — issued on or after 01-04-2026
  • EWS Certificate issued by the Tahsildar — issued on or after 01-04-2026 (family income below Rs. 8.00 lakh)
  • Valid LMV Driving Licence held for not less than 2 years (for Post Code 27)
  • Home Guard Service Certificate / CPP Certificate — must be obtained on or after the date of notification (16-09-2026); earlier certificates are invalid
  • Ex-Servicemen certificate / NCC A, B, C certificate, wherever applicable
  • Residence certificate in agency area (for ABO-ST candidates claiming physical measurement relaxation)
  • Certificate for A.P. State Government employees / NCC Instructors / 1991 Census retrenched employees claiming age relaxation
  • Telangana migration certificate (for candidates who migrated to A.P. within 10 years from 02-06-2014)
  • Widow / divorce / judicial separation documentary evidence with affidavit, where age relaxation is claimed

All documents must be produced in person in original along with one attested Xerox set. Failure to produce them leads to rejection of candidature, and no additional time will be given. No certificate will be accepted at a later stage.

Reservation & Special Categories

  • Women Reservation: 33⅓% of vacancies in each communal category (including EWS) for Post Codes 11, 15, 21, 25 and 61/62/63; 20% for Post Codes 12 and 22. Horizontal reservation on the principle of sufficiency.
  • Special Category quotas (SI Civil – PC 11): PE 5%, MSP 3%, NCC 3%, Ex-Ser 2%, CPP 2%, CDI 2%, PM 1%.
  • Special Category quotas (RSI AR – PC 12): PE 7%, MSP 3%, NCC 3%, CPP 2%, CDI 2%, Ex-Ser 2%, PM 1%.

  • For SI (Civil), RSI (AR), PC (Civil/AR), Firemen and Warders: under G.O.Ms.No.172 G.A.(SER.D) Dept. dated 02.09.2026, the first 5% of posts are filled by locals and non-locals on open merit, and the remaining 95% by locals only.

Medical Standards & Disqualifications

Eye Sight: Distant Vision 6/6 in both eyes and Near Vision 0/5 (Snellen) in both eyes. Each eye must have a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids is a disqualification.

Disqualifying defects: Physically handicapped, knock-knees, pigeon chest, flat feet, varicose veins, hammer toes, fractured limbs, decayed teeth, stammering, hard of hearing and abnormal psychological behaviour.

Other disqualifications for appointment: fake or forged documents; canvassing for candidature; bigamous marriage; dismissal from Government/PSU service; conviction or facing trial in any court (except technical offences like Motor Vehicles Act and J.J. Act violations); and involvement in any offence of moral turpitude. Antecedents verification is mandatory.

Candidates are advised to get themselves examined by a Civil Surgeon before applying to confirm they meet the prescribed physical and medical standards. No waiting list will be maintained by SLPRB — vacancies arising from cancellation, non-joining or medical unfitness shall lapse.

Q1. How many total vacancies are there in AP Police Recruitment 2026?

A total of 2,050 posts have been notified — 378 Sub Inspectors (Civil/AR/SPF), 60 SI (Communications & PTO), 43 Scientific Assistants, 1156 Constables/Firemen/Warders, 200 PC (Communications) and 213 Constables (Mechanics & Drivers).

Q2. When will the online application start?

The exact dates for online application submission and the Preliminary Written Test will be announced separately through a Press Release on https://slprb.ap.gov.in. Candidates should check the website regularly.

Q3. What is the age limit for SI and Constable posts?

For SI posts (all categories), the age limit is 21–27 years as on 01-07-2026. For PC (Civil/AR), PC (Communications) and Constable Mechanics, it is 18–24 years; for Constable Drivers 18–27 years; and for Firemen and Warders 18–32 years. Scientific Assistants have an upper limit of 44 years.

Q4. Is there a Preliminary Written Test for all posts?

No. The Preliminary Written Test applies only to SI (Civil/AR/SPF) and PC (Civil/AR)/Firemen/Warders. Technical posts — SI (Communications), SI (PTO), PC (Communications), Constables (Mechanics & Drivers) — and Scientific Assistant posts have no Preliminary Written Test.

Q5. Can I apply for more than one post?

Within the same notification, a single application covers all eligible post codes (for example, one form for Post Codes 21, 22, 42, 53 and 54). However, Scientific Assistant applicants must choose only ONE post code (61, 62 or 63) — multiple applications lead to disqualification.

Q6. What is the application fee?

Rs.600/- for OC/EWS/BC and Rs.300/- for SC/ST for SI posts and Scientific Assistant posts. For Constable-level posts, the fee is Rs.300/- for OC/EWS/BC and Rs.150/- for SC/ST. Non-local candidates pay the OC rate.

Q7. What is the minimum height requirement?

For SI (Civil/AR/SPF), PC (Civil/AR), Firemen and Warders: Men 167.6 cm with 86.3 cm chest; Women 152.5 cm with 40 kg weight. For technical posts (SI Comm/PTO, PC Comm, Mechanics, Drivers): Men 162 cm with 84 cm chest. Relaxed standards apply to ABO-ST candidates in agency areas.

Q8. What salary will I get?

SI (Communications) Rs.45,830–1,30,580; other SI posts and Scientific Assistants Rs.44,570–1,27,480; and all Constable-level posts Rs.25,220–80,910 as per RPS 2022, payable after successful completion of training. A stipend is paid during the training period.

Q9. Is a Driving Licence compulsory for the Driver Constable post?

Yes. Candidates applying for Post Code 27 (Drivers) must hold a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving Licence continuously for not less than two years as on the date of notification.

Q10. Will there be a waiting list?

No. SLPRB does not maintain a waiting list. The selection list against the notified vacancies is final, and any vacancy arising due to non-joining, medical unfitness or adverse antecedents shall lapse.

Selection to AP Police posts is purely on merit through the prescribed written tests and physical tests. SLPRB never demands money for jobs. Do not trust agents, brokers or websites promising selection, seat blocking or question papers. Canvassing or attempting to enlist extraneous support for candidature is an express ground for disqualification under the notification.
