🕒 Tenure of Engagement
All posts are on Fixed Term Employment for an initial period of 1 year, extendable by up to 3 more years (maximum 4 years total). Further extension beyond 4 years is possible as per organizational requirement and candidate performance, though remuneration will be decided at the time of extension. This is a purely contractual engagement — candidates cannot claim regular employment in AVNL.

📝 Scheme & Syllabus of Examination
- Written exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT), Objective Multiple-Choice type, of 100 marks and 2 hours duration.
- PART-A (General Paper – 50 marks): General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude (10 questions each). Level: up to 10th Standard for Junior Technician; Graduate level for other posts.
- PART-B (Subject Paper – 50 marks): Relevant trade (NCVT syllabus) for Junior Technician; relevant discipline for Junior/Assistant/Deputy Manager posts.
- Weightage of written exam: 100% for Junior Technician; 85% for Junior Manager/Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager. No written exam for Senior Manager, DGM, AGM, and Consultant.
- All questions are compulsory with no negative marking.
📝 Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Conducted for Junior Technician, Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts based on initial screening.
- Trade Test (Junior Technician only): Practical test at respective AVNL units to assess suitability/fitness; qualifying nature only — final merit based solely on written test marks.
- Interview (Junior/Assistant/Deputy Manager): Conducted for 50 marks, weighted at 15% of total merit, combined with written test performance.
- Senior Manager/DGM/AGM/Consultant: No written test — engaged through Presentation, Experience, Expertise, Knowledge assessment and Interview at AVNL CO, Avadi.
- Candidates qualifying the written test are called for Interview/Trade Test in a ratio of 1:3 (post:candidate) as per merit in each category.
- Shortlists for CBT, Interview/Trade Test, and final selections are published only on the AVNL website.
📍 Test Centres
The CBT will be conducted at: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Candidates must select their preferred test centre while applying online; AVNL reserves the right to modify/add/cancel centres based on the number of applicants.
