The Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh has released Recruitment Notification No. 01/KGBV/APSS/2026 dated 25-05-2026, inviting online applications from eligible woman candidates for 299 teaching posts in Type-III Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) across Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2026-27.
The posts are open across all districts of AP except East Godavari, Dr. B.R.A. Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur. This is a purely contract-based appointment for one academic year, and selection will be on merit basis. Read below for complete details.

Academic: 4-year integrated B.Sc/B.A/B.Com from RIE/NCERT (50%) OR Bachelor's Degree from UGC university (OC-50%, BC-45%, SC/ST/DA-40%) in the relevant subject combination.
Professional: B.Ed from NCTE recognized university with methodology in the subject (OC-50%, BC-45%, SC/ST/DA-40%).
Special note for CRT-Telugu & Hindi: Pandit Training from a recognized institution is also accepted in lieu of B.Ed.
IV. Physical Education Teacher (PET)
Option 1: Intermediate (10+2) with min. 50% (OC) / 45% (BC) / 40% (SC/ST) from AP Board of Intermediate Education (or equivalent) + UGD P.Ed / B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed recognized by NCTE (same % criteria).
Option 2: Bachelor's Degree from UGC recognized university (50%/45%/40%) + UGD P.Ed / B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed recognized by NCTE.
Differently abled persons are NOT eligible for the post of PET.

Selection Process & Merit Calculation
Selection is purely on merit basis, calculated out of 100 marks based on academic and professional qualifications. No written test is conducted. The district is the unit for selection.

Who is NOT Eligible to Apply?
- Candidates previously terminated from KGBVs on disciplinary grounds, misappropriation of funds, or deviating from duties
- Candidates who have NOT qualified APTET (where required)
- Candidates pursuing degree final year, PG, or B.Ed during academic year 2025-26
- Candidates who have applied without a proper Local Status Certificate
- Male candidates (all posts are for women only)
- Candidates who have submitted false marks or hidden information (risk of permanent debarment from all government jobs)
Local Status (District Eligibility)
- A candidate is considered a local of a district if she studied 7 consecutive years from Classes 4 to 10 in that district.
- If studied in two districts, the district where she studied for 4 years (out of 7) will be treated as her local district.
- Students from unrecognized schools must furnish a Residence Certificate from the Tahsildar of the concerned mandal.
- A candidate can apply in only ONE district.
