CIL MT 2026 Vacancy Details- Category-Wise
A total of 276 vacancies are available in the Mining Engineering discipline (Post Code: 10, GATE Paper: MN). The category-wise distribution is as follows:
*The vacancy is tentative and may increase or decrease. EWS vacancies that remain unfilled in a recruitment year will NOT be carried forward.
Eligibility Criteria- Educational Qualification
Mining Engineering
Full-time Degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
- Degree must be from a University/Institute recognized by an appropriate statutory authority in India.
- Only regular full-time courses are eligible- distance/correspondence not applicable.
- Candidates who have passed their final semester exam on or before the cut-off date are eligible.
- In case of CGPA/GPA/CPI grading, a conversion-to-percentage certificate from the University/Institute is mandatory.
- In case of any dispute on qualification admissibility, the decision of Chairman, CIL will be final.
Age Limit & Relaxations
Crucial date for age calculation: 30 April 2026. Maximum age after relaxation shall not exceed 56 years in any case. CIL departmental candidates have no upper age limit.

Selection Process
GATE-2025 Score Shortlisting
Candidates are shortlisted category-wise in the ratio of 1:3 (vacancy : candidates) based on GATE-2025 score. Only GATE-2025 scores are valid- prior or later year scores are not accepted.
Documents Verification (DV)
Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of all original documents. Candidates from Govt/PSU must produce NOC or Relieving Order.
Initial Medical Examination (IME)
Candidates must pass the company's medical fitness test. Medical standards are available on CIL's website. The Medical Committee's decision is final and binding.
Offer of Appointment
Appointment letter issued only after successful completion of DV & IME. Selected candidates' list will be published on CIL website only.
Higher percentage/CGPA in the minimum eligible qualification ranks higher.
If still tied → the older candidate (senior in age) is placed higher in merit.
Salary, Pay Scale & Benefits
Pay Scale (E-1 Grade)
Rs.60,000 - Rs.1,80,000 /month
Starting Basic Pay: Rs.60,000/- per month during Training Period
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will receive:

After successful completion of 1-year training-cum-probation, service will be confirmed in E-1 Grade as Officer (Mining). Actual remuneration may vary based on place of posting, company financial performance, and individual performance rating.
Service Agreement Bond
- Candidates must serve CIL for a minimum of 60 months (5 years) from the date of joining.
- A Service Agreement Bond of Rs.3 Lakhs + applicable GST must be executed at the time of joining.
- A monthly deduction of Rs.5,000 per month from salary will be made towards this bond.
- The bond amount will be refunded without interest after successful completion of 60 months of service.
Posting Location
Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India, including Subsidiary Companies and Coalfield areas. Candidates will be allowed to submit three preference/choice locations, but the final posting decision rests solely with CIL Management and is final and binding. Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.
