SSC LDCE Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is primarily based on the length of "Approved Service" in the Grade 'D' Stenographer rank as of the Crucial Date (July 1, 2025):

Central Secretariat (CSSS): Minimum 6 years of approved service. There is a specific relaxation for the Direct Recruit (DR) Steno Grade D of Select List Year 2018.

Indian Foreign Service (IFS Branch B): 6 years of approved service. This is 5 years for those holding the post before the 2017 rules.

Armed Forces (AFHQ): 3 years of approved and continuous service.

Railway Board:
6 years of approved service (3 years for those holding posts before current rules).

Election Commission (ECI): 3 years of approved and continuous service.

Central Vigilance Commission (CVC): 5 years of regular service.

Since this is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE), eligibility is strictly defined by the length of regular service in the feeder grade rather than a general age limit.

Exemptions & Relaxations:

SC/ST/PwBD Candidates:
If sufficient candidates are not available under prescribed standards, they may be selected based on a relaxed standard.

Scribe Facility: PwBD candidates with Blindness, Cerebral Palsy, or physical limitations to write can avail of a scribe and 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour.

Service Rank: Candidates must be regularly appointed Stenographers in Grade 'D' or Grade-III of their respective services.

Login and Apply:
Log in using your Registration Number and Password. Navigate to the "Live Exam" tab and select the Grade 'C' Stenographers LDCE 2025.
