Q7. What is the difference between Stage I and Stage II of NORCET?

Stage I (NORCET Preliminary) is a qualifying exam only — its marks are NOT used for final merit. Stage II (NORCET Mains) is the merit-determining exam — the final ranking and seat allocation is based entirely on Stage II scores. Both are Computer Based Tests (CBT).

Q8. Is there negative marking in NORCET-10?

Yes. There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for every wrong answer in both Stage I (Preliminary) and Stage II (Mains). Unattempted questions do not attract negative marks.

Q9. Can I change my exam centre after applying?

No. Any request for change of allocated examination centre will be summarily rejected without any notice.

Q10. What is the salary for AIIMS Nursing Officer?

AIIMS Nursing Officers are appointed at Level 07 of the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix with a starting basic pay of approximately Rs. 44,900/- per month. Including DA, HRA, TA and other allowances, the gross monthly salary is estimated at Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 80,000+.

Q12. How will seat allocation be done after qualifying NORCET Mains?

After Stage II results, qualified candidates will be invited to fill their institute preferences (choices). Seats will be allocated in order of merit based on the choices filled. Only one round of allocation will be conducted, and there will be no waiting list. Candidates must join the allocated seat — failing to do so leads to cancellation.

Q13. What is OTR (One Time Registration)?

OTR (One Time Registration) is a one-time registration system used by AIIMS for all its examinations. Candidates who have previously registered for any AIIMS examination must mandatorily use their existing OTR ID. Creating a new registration ID can lead to cancellation of candidature.

Queries must be raised through MyPage under the 'RAISE A QUERY' section on www.aiimsexams.ac.in. Telephonic queries before the scheduled dates will not be entertained.

NORCET 10 Preparation Tips for Nursing Officers

Focus heavily on Clinical Nursing subjects — Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, OBG, Community Health, Mental Health Nursing

Stage II is case scenario-based — practice applying nursing knowledge to clinical situations, not just rote memorisation

Stage I is sectioned (5 parts, 18 mins each) — section once closed cannot be revisited; practice time management

Revise General Knowledge and Aptitude for Stage I (20 questions)

Practise with negative marking in mind — avoid guessing; only attempt when reasonably sure

Refer to INC-approved B.Sc and GNM nursing textbooks as your primary study material

Solve previous NORCET question papers (NORCET 1 to NORCET 9) for pattern familiarity

Focus on drug dosage calculations, nursing procedures, patient care protocols, and ethical standards
